Gargoyle

A gargoyle is a spout in the shape of a grotesque human or animal shape projecting from a roof or gutter to lead rainwater off of a building. The name has also been used to describe the winged dragon-like creatures that hang around buildings as an architectural addition. These gargoyles are also known for being protectors of the people within the structure. Gargoyles can now be found on many buildings and represented in statues and other home decor items.
