Day of the dead or Día de los Muertos is a holiday to celebrate both life and death. This multi day festival at the beginning of November is when loved ones temporally return and they are greeted with drink, bread, sugar skulls or even their favorite meal. Legend has it that returning from beyond works up quite the appetite. It is the time of the year when the lives of friends and loved ones are celebrated and remembered. November 1st is typically the day to celebrate the lives of departed children and November 2nd is the day to celebrate the lives of adults that have passed.
